Our Story

We are Ed and Daisy, and we are 46 and 45 years old. We have been married for 22 years and have two children, Danny 20, and Michelle 19. We live in Florida and this is our adoption story.

In 2005, our family began the adoption process which had been a lifelong dream. With some Chinese heritage in our family, we knew China would be our country of choice. We did some research and found Great Wall China Adoptions. We had started the process with another agency, but after watching Snow Wu's agency video we submitted our application and prayed everyday for our baby-to-be. We were told at the time that the process would take approximately 9 months. We thought, how appropriate, a baby usually takes 9 month! We did all of the paperwork in record time for both the home study and our dossier.

We even received all approvals from USCIS in record time. What we did not know was that China would experience a backlog and 9 months turned to 4 to 5 years. We considered changing countries, and actually did, but our hearts remained in China. So many things happened in the past three years that forced us to consider if God really wanted us to adopt, but we continued to pray for guidance. For a while I thought this would never happen. When we received Leah's pictures, we knew that the obstacles were not to prevent us from adopting, but it was because our baby girl would be born February 1, 2007, and we were to name her Leah Mei.
